I was super honoured that one of my paintings won a competition to be hung at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery in London. The fine art specialists, Winsor & Newton were holding an exhibition there to celebrate the launch of two new products, watercolour markers and watercolour sticks.
They brought together some of the best contemporary watercolourists and also offered the chance to win one of two showcase slots via an open submission competition. Myself and Alberto Sacco were declared the winners out of 165 entries. My painting Still Waters, a small watercolour study of an ornamental pond in St Leonards Gardens was included.
It was a really wonderful event and a privilege to be included. I’ve already started to incorporate the markers into my practice and will show you how they work in due course. Meanwhile here are some shots of the event. Thank you Winsor and Newton.
